DRILLING TEMPLATES: a drill guide for drilling the glass. $6/free

Made from the largest (36 inches long) Plastic Cable Ties (pull ties)
available from the hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) priced at $6 for a 10 pack.
Cut to 6 inch lengths with the ends cut to a 90 degree point. Use a pair of snips or scissors.
A hole, 5/8 inch (16mm) back from the point was then drilled through both ends with a 3/16 inch (4.8mm) drill bit.

The dimensions listed above will allow the glass drill bit easy access through the hole at an optimal working distance from the corner of the window.

Any piece of stiff plastic at least 1/16 inch (2mm) thick to stop the glass drill bit from jumping out and scratching the glass when drilling the window will work.
